A signature sculpture by internationally known artist James Surls will greet visitors to Sam Houston State University's new Performing Arts Center opening in August, 2010. Former architect and acclaimed artist, Tim Prentice's surprising kinetic windframe piece will excite viewers entering from the parking garage. The center will house performance space for the music, dance and theatre departments. Art + Artisans worked to showcase art from former SHSU faculty, including Charles Pebworth, as well as artists from around the United States.
